Year 6: Useful Websites for Home Learning




Top Marks Maths: 

A range of mathematical games and activities for children to complete


Times table rockstars: 

Children have their own log in and set times table. 



Children have their own log in. Range of activities based on Maths curriculum followed in school will be set to consolidate their prior knowledge.


White Rose Maths: 

Scheme of work followed in class. Daily lessons are provided on the website based upon the curriculum they are following in class. Children who are working below age related expectations can access lower year groups.


Prodigy: Maths Game

Maths game which is set at their level. Different activities and challenges will have to be answered for the children to progress further in the game.




The literacy shed: 

Range of video’s and images which can be used to prompt writing and comprehension questioning. Prompts for ideas follow each video or image.


BBC Bitesize: 

Range of grammar games and activities which can be completed.


Oxford Owl: 

Maths and English games. Library of free e-books for children to download and access.



Online tests and quizzes for spelling, grammar and punctuation. 


Reading For Pleasure


Oliver Jeffers facebook page will air a live reading from him at 6pm every weekday

Lots of games suitable for children to access independently. Children will be asked questions throughout the game. Questions will be based on a range of curriculum areas.


National Geographic:

Range of games and activities. Articles available for children to read.


Mystery Science:

Variety of Science videos and experiments.


The Kids Should see this: 

Science videos that will engage children. Ask questions such as: What do you think will happen? What has happened? Why do you think that has happened? What changed? What stayed the same?


Edinburgh Zoo Live Cams

Watch animals in the zoo through a live stream.




Geography Games focussed on world geography. (Maps, cities, capital cities)
