Year 1: Useful Websites for Home Learning: 




Top Marks Maths: 

A range of mathematical games and activities for children to complete


Oxford Owl Maths:

Selection of interactive games to consolidate Maths knowledge. Younger/Older age group can be selected to meet needs of child.



Children have their own log in. Range of activities based on Maths curriculum followed in school. This will be set to consolidate their prior knowledge.


White Rose Maths: 

Scheme of work followed in class. Daily lessons are provided on the website based upon the curriculum they are following in class. Children who are working below age related expectations can access lower year groups.



5 minute cartoons covering Maths curriculum from EYFS to Y1. Updates with new episodes regularly.




The Literacy Shed: 

Range of videos and images which can be used to prompt writing and comprehension questioning. Prompts for ideas follow each video or image.


BBC Bitesize: 

Range of English Activities for KS1, including videos and games.

Oxford Owl: 

Maths and English games. Library of free e-books for children to download and access.



5 minute cartoons covering Phonics, suitable for EYFS to Y1. Updates with new episodes regularly.





Account needed to access but parents can create their own using an email address. Range of videos and images to prompt scientific thinking.



Range of videos and quiz’ focused around nature.


Kielder Observatory Facebook page: Daily videos with an Astronomer answering children’s questions.


BBC primary games

Lots of games suitable for children to access independently. Children will be asked questions throughout the game. Questions will be based on a range of curriculum areas.


National Geographic:

Range of games and activities. Articles available for children to read.


Mystery Science:

Variety of Science videos and experiments.


The Kids Should see this: 

Science videos that will engage children. Ask questions such as: What do you think will happen? What has happened? Why do you think that has happened? What changed? What stayed the same?




Cosmic Yoga Stories: 

Lots of different yoga videos which are focused around stories.


Joe Wicks: 

Lots of short child friendly workouts. Daily live PE lesson at 9am.



Lots of different videos which encourage the children to get active. Active workouts and  mindfulness videos


Just Dance: 

Clips from just dance children can follow to be active.


BBC Super movers: 

Movement videos which also provide aspects of the curriculum. Time table videos which place movement to the different number facts.




Red Ted Art

Lots of different craft activities to try.


Find a range of videos on Youtube which children can follow to help them draw different objects.



Geography Games focused on world geography. (Maps, cities, capital cities)




The Big history project:

Different stories and videos focused on different time periods in history.


Horrible Histories

Different games and videos focused around a variety of historical elements.





Games and activities to support children in learning code.


Scratch Jr

Companion website to go with the free app. Block based coding for KS1 children.

Follow #SAVEWITHSTORIES on Instagram: Celebrities reading picture books.
