Carville Primary School is a small primary school in Wallsend, located next to the north bank of the Tyne. Children join our nursery when they are three years old and leave for secondary education at the end of Year 6, when they are 11 years old.

Here at Carville Primary, we want children and families to recognise the vital role of learning in shaping the world of their future and that every day is a learning adventure which builds on children's natural curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.

SCHOOL IS OPEN FOR CHILDREN WHO ARE VULNERABLE AND CHILDREN WHOSE PARENTS ARE CRITICAL TO THE COVID-19 RESPONSE AND CANNOT BE SAFELY CARED FOR AT HOME.

Please refer to the guidance below for clarification of definitions:

If you think your child is eligible to attend school, please contact school on 0191 234 2676 or email schoolclosed@carvilleprimary.co.uk . We can discuss eligibility and organise access for provision. Please also use this number if you need to access provision on different days to those already arranged.

In the holidays, schools would usually be closed. In line with DfE guidance, we will be offering provision as it is needed by identified parents/carers, meaning we will be physically open on some days and closed on others based on the needs of those parents/ carers.

However, if your circumstances change and you need care for your child/ren, for example if you are called into work, please contact us and we will arrange provision for your child/ren, irrespective of whether or not we have planned to be open on that day or not as we appreciate that everyone’s circumstances are ever changing.

From Monday 13th April, the first contact person for all pupils receiving means-tested Free School Meals will receive by email a weblink and a code for an ASDA voucher to use with your weekly shop. Contact Mrs McAvoy or Mrs Emmerson at school if you have any problems receiving or redeeming this.

If your circumstances have changed recently and you think you may now be eligible for Free School Meals you can apply online using the link below:
